Lateral Sinus Lift in the Pre Molar Region

The patient is a healthy, 60-year-old female. She came because root #15 (4) can no longer support the metal ceramic crown. After clinical and radiographic assessment, it was determined that there was not enough bone height to perform an immediate implant.

A lateral sinus lift is performed fist and then the implant is placed in a second stage.

The patient was informed of the road to the new tooth and agreed as she really wanted a fixed solution .

The treatment plan included a first surgery with tooth extraction and lateral sinus lift with Augma Bond Apatite®. The second surgery five months later with implant insertion and an intra-crestal sinus lift with Augma Bond Apatite®. This was done to gain extra length for the implant, 11.5 mm to a 13 mm length. Augma was also used to gain keratinized tissue.

Four months later implant uncovering and impression and two months after impressions, the final crown is placed.

To assure correct hygiene of the adjacent teeth, composite restorations were performed one week later on the abfractions of teeth #14 (5) and #16 (3) one week later.
